Massage for mothers-to-be is fabulous to help de-stress, relax and enjoy all of the pregnancy... |
The sight of a pregnant woman gently caressing her ’bump’ is not an uncommon sight. In fact it looks (and feels) completely natural. So let’s take it a few months on and your ankles are swollen, your back is aching and you’re overtired because there comes a time when pregnancy is simply uncomfortable in any position!
As baby massage actually begins before birth, massage for mothers-to-be is fabulous to help de-stress, relax and enjoy all of the pregnancy. Using gentle techniques , in comfortable positions no matter what the term of pregnancy, massage will help lymphatic drainage, circulation and give you the opportunity to have some well deserved relaxation time!
The treatment will involve sweeping hand over hand movements followed by a little more pressure when the palm of the hand is then used. Techniques are specially designed to calm and relax both mother and baby and regular massage of this nature can have a profound effect on childbirth, making it less traumatic.
For an enjoyable pregnancy, easier birth and relaxed baby please give me a call. Take some time out for yourself…
Peter Wright ~ Therapeutic, Pregnancy, Deep Tissue & Indian Head Massage, Holistic Pain Management and Yoga for Kids
I grew up in Brentwood in Essex and being the active type I’ve always had an interest in health and fitness, however it wasn’t until 2003 that I found the path I believe I was intended to walk down. I found I was drawn into the whole Holistic side of life and all types of alternative therapies. I went and qualified as a Massage therapist and then took on Indian Head Massage and Holistic Pain Management, I’m a firm believer in that we can control pain and that there is no need for pain to control us or our lives.
In 2003 I found Yoga and began to practice Ashtanga on a regular basis, I found that this is where I was meant to be, the benefits of yoga were soon apparent with a whole change in my lifestyle, I stopped worrying and sweating over everything that happened and was able to deal with everything a lot calmer. Whilst doing some home practice my son would do it alongside me, this got me thinking, if I can benefit from this then so can he, so I went looking.
In 2006 I qualified as a Yogabugs instructor and have been teaching children yoga in a fun way since, 2007 I became a Yogad’up instructor and I now teach in schools and nurseries in the area. I believe yoga is for everyone out there and you don’t have to be on a spiritual journey to embrace the benefits, I aim to pass on these benefits to the children of today so they can just be themselves and happy with who they are, they have to much pressure thrown upon them at such a young age, they need to remember that they are still children. My classes are fun and challenging and we always make sure they learn to switch off at the end and learn to relax.
I started 'One' in 2004 with one of the main objectives to make a difference,
over the years I hope I have, and this is still one of the fundamental reasons
behind it all.
