What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a complete system that can be applied to any condition or disease. It works by stimulating the body to heal itself.
It is based on the concept of ‘treating like with like’. Unlike allopathic medicines, which can suppress symptoms, Homeopathy uses the symptoms to determine the root cause of the condition.
Who uses Homeopathy?
Anyone can use homeopathy! Many people are attracted to homeopathy because it is gentle and treats the person and not just the disease.
Children, Pregnant Women, Women, Men and the Elderly can all benefit considerably.
What can Homeopathy treat?
Homeopathy can be used for most physical, mental and emotional complaints.
Often where other forms of medicine struggle to diagnose the underlying
cause, Homeopathy may be useful.
It is used during pregnancy when normal medicines cannot be taken.
Physical conditions such as arthritis, eczema, hypertension, menstrual and digestive disorders are a few conditions that may benefit.
Emotionally such conditions as grief and anxiety can be the cause of physical symptoms and addressing these is core to how a Homeopath works.
The treatment
The consultation involves understanding as much about you as possible. I need to know about your life and about your family history. Completing a questionnaire before we meet can speed up this process. The first consultation is about one hour and follow-ups are about half an hour.
Homeopathy sees each person as unique and how a condition affects one person is different to how it affects another. Therefore a remedy chosen for you could be different for someone who has a similar complaint.
The consultation can be very in depth but I will handle this with sensitivity.
After the consultation I will provide you with some sugar-based pills that
contain the remedy with instructions on how to take them. If this is not
suitable we can discuss alternative ways of taking the remedy.
